Florida Golden Adventures
Live a great story.Wintering in Port St. Joe
Don’t be stuck in the house at wintertime in Florida. There is an adventure to be had even if it’s not summer. If you want a unique wintering experience, then Port Saint Joe should be on your list.
You can find some unique rental accommodations on the gulf just south of Port Saint Joe, including a golf cart community at Indian Pass. Plan a golf cart rental for your stay and head out to the beach or drive to the general store for supplies. It’s a lot of fun.
Lonely poles once supporting a large dock, now sit adorned with art in Indian Pass.
The one thing you absolutely must do if you decide to pursue an adventure in Port Saint Joe in the wintertime, is wake up early, load up your thermos with your favorite hot beverage before dawn, hop on your rental golf cart and make your way down to the beach. Nowhere else in Florida will you find a more magnificent and colorful sunrise then at dawn on the beach at Port Saint Joe, especially at Indian Pass. There, the natural curvature of the beach you see in the distance at St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge is in line with the eastern key. You will experience a unique sunrise over beach and water unlike anything you’ll enjoy elsewhere in Florida.
After a day of adventuring on your golf cart, you can find several quaint wine shops and stores to prepare a charcuterie spread to satisfy and reward your adventurous efforts in Port St. Joe proper.
If you are lucky enough to stay on the beach at Indian Pass, before dinner, hop back on your golf cart with your favorite cocktail ready to serve, and build a fire on the beach reflecting on your days adventure before you settle in for your final meal. And rest up for nighttime adventures back at the cabin.
Don’t discount the adventure and uniqueness of a wintering trip to Port Saint Joe. Most definitely add that to your list.
